1. From big to small

Stated making small bowls and vases
Then went on to the tea set
Tea set consisted of small objects such as: Sugar, creamer and lids for the tea pot and sugar holder and tiny plates.
Then moved on to bowls, bowls varied in size however were no bigger than 4 or 5 inches wide and not very tall.
Used more clay started to make bigger bowls
Bowls ranged in sizes from 6 to 8 inches
Moved away from bowls and started pulling up tall

2. How they were made

Bowls I started to make wider and not very tall
I didnt know how to pull up very succsesfully
Then started with more clay and watched Mrs. H's Demo on how to make a vase.
Then started to make small vases, I would pull up however still had a lot of unused clay at the bottom.
I made first pitcher by pulling up and using my blue rib and there was a little choking involved
Moved back to bowls and started used what I learned from making vases and used them on the bowls
Started to pull up tall and make the bowls wider than ever before.
I used my blue rib to create widness and also choking to keep the tall cylinder on center.
Moved on to making bottles
Bottles were made by taking the steps used to make a bowl and vase together.
I pulled up tall to make cylinder then widened the bottom as I would with a bowl
Then choked the project as if it was a vase
Then I had my first bottle

3. The inspiration and challenges

Inspired by Dougs throwing skill and giant sized projects
Wanted to make projects as big as Doug
Had many challenges with figuring out how to center large peices of clay
Once was centered it was a matter of pulling the project up to its full potential
Had a lot of left over clay at the bottom of progects from not pulling up correctly
Got help from Doug
Doug helped show me how to use all the clay so I could get my project to full potential
Finally figured out how to pull up tall without project getting off center
Then projects would then get to weak in some places and start to collapse.
Figured out the it was a problem on how I was pulling up
I have a lot to learn but have learned many tips this quarter

Picture
Bigger equals better, this quarter I have thrown bigger projects. My projects have increased in size for every project I have made. I started to see a major increase in size starting with my bowls and then moving on to pitchers and bottles. My latest project is a huge improvement it is a bowl that is 9 and a half inches wide and 6 and a half inches tall. Throwing bigger has made a challenge for myself and it feels great to succsesfully make a large project

Through out the semester I have been throwing bigger and bigger! My latest bowl is the biggest one I have made so far! When I started at the beginning of the semester I was throwing small and medium projects. However now I have been inspired by Doug to throw big! I have trained myself to center and throw bigger slabs of clay to make larger projects!
